Well it had to happen! As part of “normal” it’s time to get back into that work thing – it’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it! Though in truth I am working 9 to 12:30 right now. Not sure Dolly would approve!
Joking aside, after 9 weeks out is was good to start back on reduced hours last week. A few calls and team meetings and catching up with Adrian. Going through emails that have been carefully shepherded by Mel to keep them under control. Avoiding other meetings like the plague.
I have been really fortunate to have been given the space and time to park work worries during my recovery. No pressure from Adrian to rush back – if anything he’s making sure I go as slowly as I can. Regularly checking in on me during the week – not on work but how I am doing with genuine concern. ❤️
Building up my resilience in what is a usually a crazy, busy period. Mel keeping my diary under control and keeping me sane. Hats off to Paul and Andy for managing the workload and keeping the wolves from the door 🚪 ❎ 🐺
It is amazing how quickly a morning can go by. A couple of calls and the day is gone like a puff of smoke 💨 I am sticking to my hours and it is tiring mentally getting back into the routine.
I now have a to do list to die for! Starting to work with Mel to plan calls and catch ups. Picking out a few areas to focus on on where I can help and not step on toes (just yet!). Dropping colleagues emails to let them know I am back and on the road to recovery. I have to come back to one of my favourite words – some of the stuff being said to me on my return is “humbling”. It’s not a bad thing to be missed for your smile 😃
Not yet ready to sit for long periods so using the standing desk is fab. Will make my first trip to the London office next week with Judith to make sure I arrive safely. That’s going to be emotional!
