“Let’s get ready to crumble” or “Let them eat cake”. The joy of receiving 😀❤️💕

A side benefit of being in recovery is you see the best side of human nature. The love and care of family and friends as they join in the journey back to health is frankly humbling

This week it has been an apple and blackberry crumble from Julie.M (ably assisted on blackberry picking by Andy) and a fruit cake from Del (hand delivery from Justin).

Whether it is a cake, a crumble or a pie (home baked or from M&S, Waitrose or Aldi), a bottle of fizz, some alcohol free beer, a basket of fruit, a book or two, magazines, lifts for Gideon to Uni, flowers, chocolates, cards, bringing my water bottle, stabbing me with a syringe!, a dog walk, WhatsApp messages (and messenger), prayers 🙏 , visits in person and now even a teams call, what they all share is the love behind them.

So many people showing they are part my journey. Willing me on and supporting me, Judith and the kids. More offers of help than we could ever call in.

As I said at the start – humbling – to see and receive the best of human nature! 😁🙏💕💕💕💕
